**THE VERY FIRST THING Unzip the downloaded software, INSTALL the downloaded software onto your computer.

PC users: Double click the "PC-MyPhotoCreationLInstaller.exe" and follow installation instructions.
Mac Users:
Drag this Icon icon to the Applications Folder. Drag the Icon from the Apps folder to the Dock
The Second thing to do is
Set your Preferences:
Select Preferences, select setting for "Automatic Colour correction", if "on" all imported photos will be automatically colour corrected. You can "undo" this correction for each photo separately on the working page, just click to highlight the required photo and click top left button on the Photo Options Menu above the photobook page. You can also select "auto save" and how often you wish to automatically save your changes while you create your photobook.
Q: How Do I get Started? A: Best practice, Create a FOLDER in a convenient place on your computer. (You Can: create another FOLDER for each project inside this folder. This will keep your photos separate for each project.)
Copy all photos that you want to use too this folder. You can add more photos to this folder at any time.

When you want to add more photos to a photobook project, the default setting is to GOTO the last FOLDER visited, this way you dont need to navigate all over the place to find your photos.

Q: How Do I START a photobook project? A: View Animation:
With your 'Photobook Creator' application open, select 'Photobook' ifrom the menu, SELECT NEW, the select the type and size of photobook you want, once each item is selected, follow the 'Next' buttons to the finish. (you can go 'Back' and change by clicking the 'Back' button)

CARDINAL RULE:     FIRST, after creating a project...GIVE IT A NAME AND SAVE THE PROJECT
FYI: Different Versions of the same project: You can save different versions of your photobook as you make changes, this way if you dont like the changes you can go back to an earlier version
Q: How Do I customise my 'Photobook' ? A: Your first 'Photobook' should be a TEST.
Start with a few photos and 'EXPLORE ALL THE OPTIONS', try different things, see what they do, EXPERIMENT!!

Photo, from the Picture Library at the bottom of the page and all the 'RIGHT SIDE' collapsable menus are interactive. Just 'Click and Drag' items onto the page to add a new item or change an existing one, change backgrounds, theme colours and designs, clip art, picture borders and shapes.

Each item on the page has its own 'TOOL KIT' at the top center of the workspace. When you click and highlight a "PHOTO' you get a menu 'Photo TOOL KIT' for photos, shadows, rotation, transparency, automatic colour adjustments etc, Likewise if you highlight a type area, you get the Type TOOL KIT, for font and size choices.

Q: How Do I add photos to my project ? button A: You add photos by clicking the + symbol at the bottom left corner of the page, navigate to your images and select all (choose at top left of thumbnail page) or individual items by "checking" the box in the upper right of each thumbnail.
Then click OK button.
Q: How Do I add photos to a page ?

Click menu choice top left of page, "Click and Drag" on page to createPhoto Box, "click and drag" a photo from the images at the bottom of the page
OR
You can "Click and Drag" a thumbnail photo from the bottom of the page to any clear part of the page above, let go of the mouse button and choose how you wish to use the photo from the choices offered.

Q: How Do I change a photo ? A: You can"Click and Drag" a thumbnail photo from the bottom of the page to any photo already on the page, it will be changed to the current selection.
Q: How Do I add type ? button
A: Click menu choice top left of page, "Click and Drag" on page to create text box. Option/Right Click the box to edit the type.
Q: How Do I adjust the colour of type ? A: Option/Right Click the Type box (or click pencil icon in text box) to edit the type colour.
Q: How Do I add different backgrounds ? A: "Click and Drag" a background choice from the "Backgrounds" menu at the right of the page to your page, select how you wish to use it from the menu choices.
Q: How Do I change to a different backgrounds ? A: "Click and Drag" a different background choice from the "Backgrounds" menu at the right of the page to your page, select how you wish to use it from the menu choices.
Q: How Do I add features to a photo or type ? button
A:
Click to select desired photo and choose the feature from the Photo Options menu
Q: How Do I adjust the colour of a photo ? button
A: Click to select desired photo and choose the highlighted button from the Photo Options menu,
you can toggle Image enhancement on or off.
Q: How Do I create a Canvas Image wrap of a photo ? A: You can create your own canvas print file. 
Single Image Canvas
Choose "Image Wrap" from the Photobook Creator left side menu. When you choose the 40x50cm size you will be able to see the quality and crop the photo as you wish.  You can have image wrap, mirror wrap or just black or white. You can also rotate the canvas from portrait to landscape.
Multiple Image Canvas
To produce multiple photos on 1 canvas, first you must Choose "Poster" from the Photobook Creator left side menu.  Then choose the Poster size that is the same as the canvas size, 40x50cm. You can add as many photos as you wish, including "type". Once finished you can upload the file to Spectrum. Just make sure you give us the details in the comment/Instruction section of the upload form. If you have prepaid or have a voucher, just follow the procedure for Gift Certificates/Voucher upload. If you have problems, just call us and we can help.
Q: How Do I view a Proof ? A: From the 'File Menu' choose "Create a Proof" This will create a pdf proof for you to see and print out. It is a very low resolution proof with the word "PROOF" stamped diagonally accross the page.
Q: What is "Preflight/Preview" ? A: Preflight previews your photobook "Construction" for faults or errors, image too small and other items that you can correct or amend.
Sending any "Photobook Creator" Files to Spectrum
Q: I have NOT paid for the Photobook or
any other "Item"
created with the
"Photobook Softeware".
How Do I send my Finished Photobook
to Spectrum?
A: From the 'File Menu' choose " Send to Spectrum - Place an Order, then follow the menu choices.

If you have NOT purchased the photobook, or any other "Item" created with the "Photobook Softeware",
then choose place order online,

the photobook software will then "Create" the final pdf file, upload to Spectrums FTP site (This may take some time if you have many pages, large files and complicated backgrounds. The file can be 50-100mb + so be patient)
The Shopping Cart will open in the Browser with your book information already selected in the shopping Cart.
You then preview the purchase details and "Checkout" as a normal online purchase.

How Do I send my Finished Photobook
to Spectrum?

A: From the 'File Menu' choose " Send to Spectrum - Place an Order, then follow the menu choices.

Option 1:

I have ALREADY PAID or I have a Voucher or a Gift Certificate
for the Photobook or any other "Item" created with the "Photobook Softeware",
follow the procedure above EXCEPT CHOOSE
button  " Save file to hard drive" or burn to CD.
This option saves the finished file to your selected destination on your hard drive.
You can then 'Upload" the MyPhotobook.dgl File via our online Upload service,
write to Cd or USB/Thumb Drive and send/post to spectrum .

Option 2:

I have ALREADY PAIDfor the Photobook or any other "Item" created with the "Photobook Softeware",
follow the procedure above EXCEPT CHOOSE

We CANNOT proceed without this information as the Job ID number must be sent to Spectrum.
We will not be able to reference Your Details to the uploaded file without the Job ID number.
The uploaded file on the FTP site has only the JOB NUMBER as reference, no name or other details.
If you do not fill in the form, we will not be able to identify the sender and No Action will be taken with the sent file, it will be Deleted from the FTP Server.

The base price for a 40 page photobook, will be displayed, Just add additional pages above 40 standard pages

to Spectrum?
Click either "Send It" button or the Upload Voucher Photo Files Here will open our upload page,
Just fill in the form, attach your "myphotobook.dgl" file and send. See Upload Help >>>

Q: My compter keeps loosing my internet connection when I send the .dgl files. A:NOTE: Photobooks with a large number of pages can be very large files, 100-500mb This will take avery long time to send from your computers if you do not have a good fast internet connection. Your service provider may also have restrictions on the size and time spent uploading the files. Check the details of your ISP package.
You may wish to send the "myphotobook.dgl file" on a CD or USB/Thumb Drive. ( Do Not send in an "Unprotected"envelope, Australia Post's automatic letter sorting may damage the items)
